Xbox One vs PS4 release date: 'Need For Speed: Rivals' Game debut date offers hint for Xbox One

Xbox One

Sony has revealed that the PlayStation 4 will be hitting the shelves on Nov. 15 in the U.S. and Nov. 29 in Europe at the Gamescom 2013 event in Cologne, Germany.

"I'm delighted to say that PlayStation 4 will be launching in 32 countries this holiday season," said Andrew House, president and group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment.

Microsoft, on the other hand, did not announce a specific release date for the Xbox One. The only clue the company gave is that the next generation console will be released some time in November.

While the PS4 will be launching at the same time in 32 countries, Microsoft will only be releasing its product in 13 countries this year.

Sony has revealed that over one million pre-orders have been taken for PlayStation 4. Microsoft did announce how many pre-orders have been taken for the Xbox One.

Although Microsoft didn't specify a release date, they announced a full list of games that would be available on day one of the console's launch.

The games are as follows:

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (Ubisoft)
Battlefield 4 (EA)
Call Of Duty: Ghosts (Activision)
Crimson Dragon (Microsoft)
Dead Rising 3 (Microsoft/Capcom)
FIFA 14 (EA)

Powerstar Golf (Microsoft)
Ryse: Son Of Rome (Microsoft)
Skylanders: Swap Force (Activision)

Zumba Fitness: World Party (Majesco)

At EA's Gamescom event yesterday, the company announced that 'Need For Speed: Rivals' (listed above) will debut on Nov, 21. Microsoft did say that the games would be launched with the console, meaning that if 'Need for Speed: Rivals' will debut on Nov. 21, the Xbox One may also be launched on the same day.

The PS4 is available to pre-order for $399, while the Xbox One Day One Edition with commemorative controller is selling for $499.999.
