Microsoft announced the Xbox One S during the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016, held last month. It is a thinner and more powerful video game console than the original Xbox One. Fans can finally get their hands on it by Aug. 31.

The major difference between Xbox One S and the original one is its size. The upcoming console will be 40 percent smaller. It will sport a lower profile, thus will look better wherever it will be placed. It will also come with a built-in power supply, so there is nothing extra to hide. It also comes in white, will support 4K Ultra HD video output for Blue-ray and stream content but not gaming. Xbox Scorpio will handle that one.

It will also be able to support the HDR feature that is found on many modern TVs. An IR Blaster is also included, so one can turn on their other devices by using their Xbox One S.

Its wireless controller is made even better; with its textured grip, extended range and with its Bluetooth connection, it can also be used on Windows 10 PCs, tablets and even phones.

There are currently three models of the console to choose from. The highest model comes with a 2TB storage and costs US$399, a 1TB version comes for US$349, and the 500 GB version cost US$299. All models are ready for pre-orders on the Microsoft Store and Amazon.

Meanwhile, the company is also offering several bundles for its original Xbox One. Microsoft is currently offering its old console with deals better than Black Friday 2015 offerings. A US$100 deal is off on its 1TB consoles, from US$399 to US$299. Their 500GB version is now priced at US$279, from US$349, Twinfinite reported.

Additionally, the Microsoft Store will also include a free Xbox One Controller, so one should be taking home a total of 2 controllers; a Ubisoft game out of three options; and a US$50 Gift Card. Retailers like Best Buy and GameStop are said not to offer the same promo.
