After confirming the upcoming gaming console system's presence at the E3 2017, details about the Xbox One Project Scorpio continue to emerge online.

Early reports claimed that the soon-to-be released gaming console will feature a new custom eight-core processor that clocked at 2.3 GHz. In an interview with GamaSutra, Microsoft's Xbox Core Platform group program manager Kevin Gammill shared that Project Scorpio's central processing unit (CPU) is 31 percent better compared to the processor of Xbox One S.

Gammill also shared that they enhanced the coherent bandwidth of the device's graphics processing unit (GPU) to CPU to help its processor clock faster compared to the current Xbox One. "The net result of all that is that not only does the CPU clock faster than it does in Xbox One, it's actually more efficient than the one in both Xbox One and Xbox One S," he also said. "We had more time to tune it. You learn a lot when you put something out there, you can iterate on it, and this is the result of our learnings"

The report also mentioned that the memory capacity of the upcoming Xbox One Project Scorpio will no longer have the usual ESRAM and 8 GB of DDR3 random access memory (RAM) combination. Instead, it with be replaced with a total of 12 GB of DDR5 RAM.

Details about the release of Xbox One Project Scorpio remains scarce, but Xbox head Phil Spencer revealed that more information about the upcoming device will be shared during the E3 event scheduled on Sunday, June 11.

"I'm proud of the progress made with Project Scorpio and what it will mean for the creators who fuel the passion of gamers around the world," Spencer said in a press release that was posted on Xbox Wire, adding, "We're excited to unveil Project Scorpio and the amazing game experiences it powers at E3 this June."

More information about the Xbox One Project Scorpio is still expected to be revealed in the coming days.
