There is understandably a lot of anticipation for Microsoft's next generation console, the Xbox Project Scorpio. The anticipation has of course just been increased due to Microsoft's lack of any updates and details regarding their new gaming hardware. Given this fact, several reports have now emerged which have tried to determine the minute details about the new gaming system.

The latest report that has recently emerged has now tried to speculate on the possible price of the new console when it comes out. Phil Spencer from Xbox has even recently defended earlier rumors about the possible high price of their upcoming console as compared to other consoles in the market. Spencer has not really revealed how much their console would cost, but there were some hints that it would likely be more expensive than the currently available systems.

According to one prediction, the Xbox Project Scorpio will likely be priced at around $800. The basis for the price estimate of the system is apparently from the possible hardware that it will be sporting. It was further mentioned that the console could significantly be faster than any available gaming system including Sony's recently released 4K gaming system, the Sony PlayStation 4 Pro.

There have also been speculations that the new Xbox console may not necessarily be aimed at console gamers but more towards high-end PC gamers. Most high-end PC gaming rigs can cost as much as $2000 to build, which means that an $800 price tag for a system that can reportedly run video games at full 4K resolution would be a relative bargain for interested gamers. Not much is known about the actual hardware within the new console, but it is highly believed that the Project Scorpio console will be able to run games at native full 4K resolutions.

The Xbox Project Scorpio console is expected to be released sometime in 2017. Microsoft has yet to announce a specific date for its release next year.
