Barely a month since its release, the turn-based tactics sequel game "XCOM 2" is already lined up to receive its first expansion content, and players will get to experience the DLC sooner than they think.
In a post on the official "XCOM 2" website, it was announced that the first DLC expansion for the game, "Anarchy's Children," will go live on March 17. The expansion pack will unlock additional bonus in-game items, "over 100 new exotic customization options for your soldiers, including new hair styles, face paints, armor, lower face props, decals, helmets, masks and more. Your soldiers will strike fear into ADVENT and its alien overlords with menacing tactical styles that run the gamut from post-apocalyptic to the downright deranged."
When it rolls out next week, the "Anarchy's Children" DLC can be purchased as a stand-alone expansion pack for $4.99. Players who have already purchased the season pass, "Reinforcement Pack," will automatically get the new DLC once it releases on March 17. The season pass also includes automatic releases for two more upcoming expansion packs aside from "Anarchy's Children."
Prior to the first DLC for "XCOM 2" going live next week, developer Firaxis Games recently rolled out a new patch for the game. In a separate announcement, it is said that the new patch is a major update and is a required download. The update will automatically roll out for "XCOM 2" as soon as players start their Steam client.
As a major update, the new patch addresses major issues in-game such as stability concerns and performance bugs, as well as balance tweaks in gameplay and graphics. The developer said that after the patch is installed, players will need to check their graphics settings manually and tag "Auto Detect Graphics Settings" for the graphics tweaks to take effect.
