Previously scheduled to be released early next month, it is now confirmed that the console versions of "XCOM 2" will have a slight delay, releasing toward the end of September instead.

The parent company of publisher 2K Games, Take Two Interactive, made the announcement during a recent earnings call. Originally slated for release on September 6, "XCOM 2" will now roll out on September 30 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Reportedly, the delay is to "ensure the game is fully polished at launch and meets the team's high standards." This means that the game's console version may still be on its finishing touches and will not make the original September 6 launch.

The September 30 release date is the global launch for the title. North America fans will get the new sequel earlier on their consoles, as "XCOM 2" will launch in the region on Sept. 27.

Meanwhile, although the team is still busy with the title's release for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it is confirmed that the PC version of "XCOM 2" will still have expansion content, both free-to-play and paid DLC. For the console versions, "XCOM 2" will have additional, exclusive content for pre-orders. The console titles will come complete with the DLCs already released for the PC version, as well as bonus content such as new enemies, weapons, armor sets, and new missions for "Anarchy's Children" and "Alien Hunters," and a new major mission with new features for "Shen's Last Gift" DLC. Aside from exclusive content, the bundle contains the "Resistance Warrior Pack" items.

The bonus content comes for the special "Digital Deluxe Edition" for $74.99. Meanwhile, there is also a standard, "XCOM 2" pre-order copy on the PlayStation Network and Xbox One Store with a $59.99 price tag, coming out with "Resistance Warrior Pack" content with an extra character and new cosmetics items.
