"Xenoblade Chronicles 2" is out to show it's a beautiful game. With barely two months before its launch, Nintendo is making the marketing rounds to show the game off. At Milan Games Week 2017, the Japanese video game publisher unveiled new footage from the upcoming role-playing game (RPG).

At the Italian video game event last weekend, gameplay footage of "Xenoblade Chronicles 2" highlighted the exploration of landscapes, demonstrated combat mechanics, showcased vibrant colors and a lot more.

It's not clear if the footage shown is the same one that was showcased at the Nintendo Direct event last month. Some hardcore fans have gone out of their way to put up comparison screenshots that focused on the enhancements from the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2017 and the build featured at the trailer presentation last January.

The "Xenoblade Chronicles 2" screenshots appeared online last week, putting the spotlight on some new interface elements. It's also been reported that the bond between a Driver and its Blade will be represented by a line and the strength of the bond will be illustrated by that line.

The official synopsis for the upcoming game reads, "Lost in a sea of clouds, entire civilizations rest on the backs of Titans. As the giant beasts march toward death, the last hope is a scavenger named Rex — and Pyra, a living weapon known as a Blade. Can you find the fabled paradise she calls home? Command a group of Blades and lead them to countless strategic victories before the world ends. Each Titan hosts its own distinct cultures, wildlife, and diverse regions to explore."

"Xenoblade Chronicles 2" is set to be released for the Nintendo Switch worldwide on Dec. 1. A special edition of the game will also come out on the same day.
