The Chinese company Xiaomi continues to make a stir in the market as it recently announced its phablet Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G LTE. The device is speculated to be a stiff competition to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

Latest reports from China claimed that the first 'batch' of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G LTE was sold out in 35 seconds. The first set of the device amounted to 100,000 units.

The Redmi Note capable of 4G connectivity packs a 5.5-inch HD IPS screen display with a pixel resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The phablet is powered by a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.6GHz. The chipset is paired with 2GB of RAM. The phablet will also pack 8GB of internal storage with microSD slot for additional storage of up to 64GB.

At the back, the budget smartphone-tablet hybrid will sport a 13MP back camera with autofocus and an LED flash as well as 5MP front-facing camera, which is perfect for video calls and selfies. The phablet will also pack a 3200mAh battery to back up the processes. The device will run with the 4.2 version of Jelly Bean with the company's own MIUI.

The device measures 154 x 78.7 x 9.5 mm and weighs 189 grams. One of the attractive features of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G LTE is its very cheap price tag, which is just $162. It is a 4G LTE model with its 4G connectivity only working in China and India.

Xiaomi was recently clouded with "privacy issues" after a security firm found out that the contacts are stored in a cloud. The company said that it already fixed the issue. This is a sign that the company is getting some attention.

There is no word yet if the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G LTE will be released in the US. If so, it may happen in mid-2015 or later until the company can firmly established itself in its homecourt.
