Only folks in Asia, specifically those who live in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and India, initially enjoyed the Xiaomi Mi 4i, but not anymore. Users from around the world can now get the April-released smartphone from Hong Kong-based retailer Uniqbe, which put the handset up for international pre-order.

The handset is sold for $240 plus shipping, which varies depending on buyers' locations. Shipping fees can sometimes go up to around $40 or $50 and even up to $60, so interested buyers should prepare around $300 to get the all new, premium-specced Xiaomi Mi 4i.

The hottest smartphone from the growing Chinese company comes with a 5-inch IPS display that's crisp and sharp with its 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and 441 ppi pixel density. There is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor to power it up and 2 GB RAM to complement it.

Users can install up to 16 GB of their favorite games and apps, and use the device nonstop as it has a big 3120 mAh battery. It is equipped with the fast charging technology, which juices up the battery up to 40 percent in just an hour. Owners can also save photos on the Xiaomi Mi 4i taken with its camera combo that includes a 13-megapixel rear camera that's capable of recording high definition videos and a 5-megapixel camera that's perfect for selfies.

The handset has Android 5.0 Lollipop ready and Xiaomi juxtaposed the new Google operating system with its own MIUI 6 UI to give that personal Xiaomi feel. The device does not have a microSD card slot; the company instead opted for dual SIM support. It comes in black, white, yellow, blue, and pink.

Not too long ago, the Xiaomi Mi 4i was involved with overheating issues, which Xiaomi quickly resolved by rolling out a special update to eliminate the problem.
