Chinese company Xiaomi has evolved ever since it released its very first smartphone offering to the tech world several years ago. The company is making its way to more markets and dominating most of them with its ever-growing product portfolio.

Xiaomi continues to step up its game, and new reports are claiming that the tech firm is now busy with the Xiaomi Mi 5, which is expected to feature a fingerprint sensor on its home button.

Fingerprint scanning technology is widely used by prominent smartphone players in the field. Apple's and Samsung's flagships and high-end handsets have been designed with the sensor, allowing users to access and unlock the device by placing a finger on the home button.

The iPhone 6 and te Samsung Galaxy S6 make use of the security-centric functionality now that they have integrated unique in-house mobile payment systems on the aforementioned handsets. But others like the HTC One M9 Plus have the feature as well.

As for the Xiaomi Mi 5, its maker keeps details at a minimum for now. The company has yet to make an official announcement about the upcoming handset. Rumor mills, however, suggest that the Xiaomi Mi 5 will likely come with 5.2-inch Quad HD display. Its power will be provided by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor coupled with 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB storage. It is also expected to sport a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel shooter on the front. It is likely to make use of a 3600 mAh battery unit.
