China-based Xiaomi has yet to come out with confirmed details about an upcoming flagship. However, speculations have already floated online about the much-rumored and anticipated Mi 5 outing. Apparently, these speculations stemmed out from supposed leaks of the upcoming device.

According to GSM Arena, the latest leaks came out of Weibo, China's social media site. Apparently, a user uploaded some images of the purported Xiaomi Mi 5 design. If the supposed leak turn out to be true, fans may expect the upcoming flagship to come in a variety of color options as the images show the Xiaomi Mi 5 in black, pink, white, and gold.

Meanwhile, First Post said that the new images appear to dovetail with previous alleged renders of the device, showing the back and front of the Mi 5. The industry follower said if the final product version that will eventually roll out in the market looks similar to the supposed leaked images, then the new Xiaomi flagship looks like another company lineup, the Mi Note. This is based on the fingerprint reader and home button on the bottom of the device but with rounded corners distinguishing the two Xiaomi lineups.

In addition to the supposed press renders and leaked images, Phone Arena managed to come across a video posted on Weibo that shows what appears to be the Xiaomi Mi 5 in action. The footage itself looks to be a marketing ad for the device, highlighting the neat and clean-cut features of the flagship's design and form factor. The video also shows how responsive the Mi 5 could be in terms of interface and opening of apps and programs.

The Mi 5 is rumored to come out next year, adding another premium flagship lineup for Xiaomi. According to speculations, the upcoming premium iteration will release with a Snapdragon 820 chipset, at least 4 GB of RAM, and will also feature a 5.2-inch QHD display.
