Since Xiaomi revealed its full Mi 5 lineup at this year's Mobile World Congress, only two versions have been released to the global market. This changes next month, as reports suggest that the Xiaomi Mi 5 Pro variant will go on sale as early as April 6.

According to GizChina, the Pro version of Xiaomi's latest flagship lineup will hit the market in China on April 6. This means that fans of the Xiaomi Mi flagship will get the chance to check out the Xiaomi Mi 5 version with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Currently, the only available variants of the Mi 5 are the base models of the lineup, with 3GB of RAM and 32GB and 64GB onboard storage options.

The industry follower took note of the date, as it seems that Xiaomi will be going head-to-head with other China-based manufacturers. April 6 has been confirmed as the date that two other tech manufacturers will launch their flagship devices for this year. Huawei will reportedly reveal its P9 lineup, and Meizu will go and announce the M3 Note.

In the case of the Huawei P9, it is expected that it will be a lineup launch rather than an iteration follow-up. According to supposed early leaks, the P9 will be a full lineup – with a base model, a P9 Lite, and a premium P9 Max.

Meanwhile, as for the Xiaomi Mi 5, the Mi 5 Pro launch on April 6 is just one of the company's planned early 2016 launches. According to Indian Express, the Mi 5 is expected to arrive in India on March 31. The date is already confirmed, as Xiaomi already sent out invites for the India launch. However, a price tag for the Indian market has yet to be revealed, and it is expected that the March 31 launch will also provide the update.
