It is said that Xiaomi will be launching a new Mi 5 iteration soon. Recent speculations suggest that the tech maker has already scheduled a Nov. 30 launch date for the rumored Xiaomi Mi 5c.

Supposedly, leaked posters out of China have already pegged a late-month debut for the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5c. Aside from the launch date, the alleged leaks have also featured other details on the specs and features of the step-down lineup addition.

According to the leaks, the Xiaomi Mi 5c will feature the tech maker's first in-house chipset, the Pinecone SoC. The octa-core CPU and speed levels point out that the new chipset is a mid-range processor, placing the Mi 5c as a direct step-down variant of the Xiaomi Mi 5 flagship.

The new chipset will reportedly be paired with at least 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, expected to be expandable via microSD support. Meanwhile, other reported specs and features include a 5.5-inch display with ultra-narrow bezels, likely with either 720p or full HD resolution; 12-MP main camera and 8-MP selfie shooter at the front; and built-in fingerprint sensor.

Although the launch will be a late 2016 release, it is said that the Xiaomi Mi 5c will still carry Android Marshmallow 6.0 right out of the box, layered with MiUI 8. However, since it will be a recent iteration, it is expected that the new handset will be included in Xiaomi's Android Nougat update list.

Aside from hardware, the supposed leaks also point out other details about the upcoming launch. Reportedly, the Xiaomi Mi 5c will be priced at CNY999 on its release, translating to around $145. Since it is expected that the Mi 5 lineup addition will also be a global release, fans can expect at least a $150 price tag for the upcoming Mi 5c.
