The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 has only been in the market for quite some time, but talks about the device's next generation has already begun. According to the latest leaks, the third iteration of the Mi Mix series, unofficially called the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s, will sport a front design similar to Apple's current flagship handset, iPhone X.

As reported by GSMArena, leaked images of Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s has surfaced online, showing the brand-new appearance of the Chinese handset maker's edge-to-edge smartphone. The all-screen display of the Mi Mix 2s is somewhat familiar, due to the notch on top of the device that is reminiscent to the iPhone X. Tech enthusiasts welcome this kind of change for the new Mi Mix handset, although for other users, the notch feature looks somewhat awkward.

The leaked XIaomi Mi Mix 2s images were first posted on the Chinese social media platform Weibo. At least four pictures of the alleged Mi Mix smartphone have circulated, although the entire design of the device is not shown. Only the upper half of the top display can be seen, and there are no hints if the Mi Mix 2s will also get rid of the home button, just like the iPhone X.

Other features visible in the leaked Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s renders are the image sensors, earpiece, and the front camera embedded on the iPhone X-like notch. As for the device's software, the leaked images show that the Mi Mix 2s will stick to Xiaomi's custom user inferface, the MIUI.

Android Headlines reported that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s is likely to launch with Qualcomm's current top-end mobile processor, the Snapdragon 835. The premium smartphone will also include 4GB RAM, although there is a possibility that another variant of Mi Mix 2s with 6GB of RAM. It is still uncertain if the rear camera will feature a dual-lens setup or the single image snapper.

It is speculated that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s will be unveiled in the early months of 2018.
