Although Xiaomi has yet to confirm a debut for its upcoming flagship, it is said that the Mi Note 2 is ready for launch, as supposed leaks continue to surface online.

The most recent supposed leaks showcase the upcoming Xiaomi flagship in great detail. The supposed leaked images show that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will indeed feature a dual curved edge display, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 7.

The images also provide a screenshot of the Settings tab for the new flagship, and seemingly confirming that the Mi Note 2 will launch with Android Nougat 7.0 layered with Xiaomi's own MiUI 8.6.8.26 software. If this is indeed the consumer version for the new flagship, then it is a hint on when can fans expect the Mi Note 2.

Having Android Nougat 7.0 may mean a late October launch at the earliest, since another flagship, the LG V20, is touted to be the first non-Nexus smartphone to come out with Android Nougat onboard. LG's new iteration will debut on September 6.

Meanwhile, Google's own new flagship lineups are expected to come out in two iterations, with both HTC-made flagships coming out with Android 7.0 in an early October launch.

It is also said that Xiaomi is intending for the Mi Note 2 to be launched as a full lineup, with at least two iterations in the series. According to Phone Arena, the base model for the flagship will carry the current-gen Snapdragon 821 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and having 32GB of onboard storage. Meanwhile, a top-tier version will also release, carrying a step-up Snapdragon 821 chipset and 6GB of RAM. The industry follower also notes that the top-tier Mi Note 2 may be launched as a "Pro" version with 128GB of onboard storage, a direct follow-up to the current Mi Note Pro lineup. It remains to be seen, though, if both variants will carry the same 5.5-inch QHD display.
