Xiaomi has reportedly released a teaser for its new flagship, the Mi Note 2. This led to speculations that the new top-tier Xiaomi iteration is ready for release, maybe as early as this month.

According to GSM Arena, rumors out of China say Xiaomi is thinking of releasing the Mi Note 2 later this month, with a press event reportedly scheduled for July 25. Along with the specific reveal date, the speculations also allegedly confirmed some of the previously rumored specs for the new flagship. The Mi Note 2 will allegedly come out with a 5.7-inch display, 6GB of RAM, and a Snapdragon chipset. Since the Mi Note 2 is one of the flagships of Xiaomi, it is expected that it will come out with at least a Snapdragon 820 processor.

Meanwhile, it is still too early to tell if Xiaomi plans to push through with the July announcement, as other reports say that the Mi Note 2 will come out as a major announcement from the company, and it will need a backdrop like the upcoming IFA 2016 as its venue. The annual event takes place this September.

However, there are also reports that say Xiaomi is planning to pre-empt the annual event by announcing the new Mi Note 2 as early as August. Reportedly, China-based analysts like Pan Jiutang say the Mi Note 2 is the previously rumored $600 flagship from Xiaomi. Reportedly, in this price range, the new flagship will come out with new top-tier features like a 256GB storage option, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, pressure-sensitive display like Apple's Force Touch, and an improved camera setup. Observers also said that the Mi Note 2 will come out in at least two versions, with the base model having an SD 820 chipset and 4GB of RAM. Meanwhile, the high-end variant will ship out with a Snapdragon 823 processor and 6GB of RAM.
