For a while now, the rumor mills have been chomping info on the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2. The Chinese company kept its lips tight on the matter but now that the special event scheduled on Nov. 24 is close at hand, Xiaomi is slowly unmasking the rumored slab.

Xiaomi President Lin Bin has been using Weibo to preview the device. Just recently, he shared a photo of an all-metal, ultra-thin device believed to be the long-rumored tablet, providing insight into what users are in for with the new iteration of the Xiaomi Mi Pad.

The photo features a bit of the rear and one side of the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2. The device's elegance is certainly the first thing to notice. This is a major departure from the bright-colored plastic sheaths that housed its predecessor.

On the right hand side of the device sits the volume rocker and the power button, which GSM Arena points out aren't positioned very far apart. The camera was also spotted and it doesn't look like it has a LED flash along with it.

Notably, Xiaomi is giving the Mi Pad 2 quite the makeover on the outside. From what the reports and rumors on the specs have suggested, the China-based company is also going bold on the inner makings of the slab.

Reports say that the slab will come in a 7.9-inch display but it is keeping the 2,048 x 1,536 pixel resolution of the original Mi Pad. It will reportedly be powered by an Intel processor with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage space in tow.

The Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 is expected to make an appearance at a product launch event of its maker on Nov. 24, where the much-awaited and long-demanded flagship smartphone Xiaomi Mi 5 and phablet Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro will be made official as well.
