Xiaomi Redmi 2a is about to get an "enhanced" version, with the Chinese tech firm bumping up the insides of one of its bestselling and fan-favorite mobile products. The 1 GB RAM and the 8 GB storage of the beloved handset are now being doubled.

That being said, the March 2015-released handset will now offer 2 GB RAM and 16 GB RAM. The best part is that the price tag will remain as it is – $78, which basically means that users will get more room and more power without having to shell out extra.

As users would have imagined, the rest of the specs of the new and improved Xiaomi Redmi 2a remain intact. The display will still be at 4.7 inches with 720p quality and a 312ppi pixel density. A Leadcore LC1860 processor clocked at 1.5GHz will be running the show.

The device features an 8-MP rear-facing camera paired with a decent 2-MP front-facing shooter, which should be great for taking selfies and doing video chats. The smartphone has a 2,200-mAh battery to keep it alive with Android 5.0 Lollipop as its background. It also has two SIM card slots to boot.

The enhanced Xiaomi Redmi 2a will be available on Nov. 11 and will be released alongside a new version of the Mi Band fitness tracker. Although the price wasn't changed, the China-based manufacturer is expected to rack up massive sales with the holiday season close at hand.

Xiaomi has been on a roll in the past few months. The company recently reached another big milestone after acquiring 11 million sales for the Redmi 2a. Xiaomi has also been the subject of the rumor mills for the speculated coming of two smartphone heavyweights out of the tech firm.

It is being said that the long-rumored Xiaomi Mi 5 and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro will dazzle the tech world soon.
