Apart from the long overdue Xiaomi Mi 5, the China-based tech firm is allegedly working on the Redmi Note 2 Pro as well. The device has been a subject of an abundance of leaks and speculations and this time, it showed up in a live image.

The leaked photo, which comes from Mobile Dad, showed key specs and features of the smartphone. For one, the handset was seen dressed in full metal, which, if it really is the case, proves that Xiaomi is stepping up its game in the design department as much as it does in its products' innards.

The other big take away from the photo is the fingerprint sensor on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro's back, confirming that the device will indeed employ the biometric security technology that majority of flagships and high-end releases have.

The image also showed that the device will have soft, rounded corners as well as speaker grilles at the bottom, just right below the Xiaomi logo. There is a round camera above the fingerprint sensor but sandwiched in them is a LED flash.

As for the rest of the specs, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro is expected to don a 5.5-inch full HD display, which churns out a sharp 401ppi pixel density. The machine is oiled by the pairing of a MediaTek MT6795 chipset and a 2-GB RAM. Also on board is 32 GB of storage space that can be expanded with a microSD card.

Users can expect to see Android 6.0 Marshmallow all over the handset but there's also the possibility that Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will be pre-installed in it instead. For those who worry about what cameras the smartphone boasts, rumor mills anticipate a 13-MP rear-facing shooter and a 5-MP front-facing snapper.

To be able to enjoy all of that, there will be a 3,060-mAh battery inside to keep the device alive. Details on pricing are vague but media outlets foresee a budget-friendly price tag for the device to stand out from its stellar-specced but low-priced competitions in the field.
