The Redmi Note 2 is one of the most awaited products from Xiaomi that has yet to be formally introduced. But it looks like the phablet is coming sooner than the tech world had anticipated, that is, if info from a mined certification site is any indication. 

Thanks to Mobile Dad's curiosity, the said device was revealed to have appeared in TENAA, a quality certification center owned by the Chinese government. While the Xiaomi device in the listing was unidentified, the former claims (after consulting its sources) that it is indeed the Redmi Note 2. 

The Xiaomi smartphone comes with the code number 2015501, which the certification agency listed to have passed with 4G LTE connectivity. Select specifications of the alleged Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 were also quantified in the said listing. 

This revealed that the handset will still sport a 5.5-inch screen. The upgrade, to note, lies in the quality as the display is now made to full HD (from just HD), which translates to 1920 x 1080 resolution. With the traditional MIUI comes either Android 5.0.2 or 5.1 Lollipop. 

There are no details on the storage or internal memory but the device will be outfitted with a 64-bit octa-core Mediatek (MT6795) Helio X10 processor and a hefty 3000mAh battery unit to cater to the improved display.

The alleged Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 will boast a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera complete with LED flash. Complementing this snapper is a 5-megapixel shooter on the front.

Interestingly, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun announced via his Weibo account that a Note device will be out and about on June 29. With the Xiaomi Mi Note and Mi Note Pro already in the market, he could very well be talking about the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2.

Notably, it is rumored that Xiaomi will also introduce a bigger variant called Redmi Note 2 Pro. This one is said to offer up 2 GB RAM and basically the same set of specs except, of course, for the screen size, which rumor mills still have to figure out.
