If the rumors are anything to go by, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is arriving in the coming months. Xiaomi has not yet revealed official details regarding their next premium phone's specs and features, but the leaked renders suggest that the Redmi Note 5 will be powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 636 chipset. The handset is also expected to go with the current trend of bezel-less displays.

As reported by Business Today, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is likely to be the first smartphone to boast Snapdragon 636. Qualcomm has recently announced their latest mobile device processor, which will introduce significant improvement in handsets. For one, the chipset is expected to boost a device performance and speed by 40 percent. To note, the current Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 uses Snapdragon 625 processor.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5's Snapdragon 636 is composed of an octa-core CPU with Adreno 509 GPU. The processor has a maximum clock speed of 1.8GHz, coupled with 8GB RAM.

Another advantage of using the Snapdragon 636 is that smartphones will be allowed to have a full-scale view with FHD+ resolution, which can be further enjoyed by users with a bezel-less display. As per the leaked images of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, the smartphone will be sporting reduced bezels on the sides to give way for a wider view.

Leaked images of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 showed that the device will include a dual camera setup. Specifically, there will be a dual-lens camera at the back of the handset, which is made of two 16MP sensors. The front panel of Redmi Note 5 will receive a single 24MP snapper.

According to the latest reports, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is expected to be shipped by the end of 2017 or early 2018. This estimate is based on shipping schedule of Snapdragon 636 chipsets, which will begin in November.

There is a huge expectation that the Redmi Note 5 will meet the high standards set by its predecessor. The Redmi Note 4 is well-received by the users, not to mention its high sales across India. For now, there are no reports if the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will be shipped in other markets around the globe, including the U.S. More details are likely to surface in the coming weeks.
