The launch date of Xiaomi's newest flagship phone has already been confirmed. Nonetheless, rumors and speculations reveal that the Chinese company may launch another device ahead of the Xiaomi Mi 6. In particular, this alleged gadget might be the successor of last year's Xiaomi Redmi Pro, loosely referred to as the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2.

The Redmi Pro successor has not yet been announced and launched officially. However, the Chinese-language report from MyDrivers reveals that the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 is already listed in online retail store Taobao. Based on the posting, there are reportedly two prices — one variant at CNY 1,599 or about $233 and CNY 1,799 or approximately $262.

Previous reports reveal that the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 will come in two variants. The smaller storage space version will have 4 GB of random access memory (RAM) and 64 GB of internal storage, while the bigger storage option will feature 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. If this is true, then the former price may pertain to the 4 GB/64 GB variant, while the latter cost may point to the 6 GB/128 GB version.

As for other specifications, rumors reveal that the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 will come in a 5.5-inch organic light emitting diode (OLED) display with full high definition (HD) resolution. It might be engineered by a MediaTek Helio P25 chipset instead of the initial rumors that suggest a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. Aside from these, it might keep the same camera features as its predecessor.

If these are proven correct, then the processor is complementary to the dual camera since Helio P25 is customized to support this feature. The chipset, which comes with a 16-nanometer architecture, will enable Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 to produce high-quality images. Aside from this, it also comes with power efficient technology as well as other high-end camera features.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 will be announced on Wednesday, April 19. If rumors are correct, the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 may be unveiled prior or on the same day as the new flagship.
