The Redmi S2 is one of the rumored upcoming smartphones from Xiaomi in 2018, although the Chinese tech manufacturer has yet to confirm its next batch of devices after the recent Mi 6X launch.

Based on the latest reports, the arrival of the Xiaomi Redmi S2 might happen sooner, as evidenced by the sighting of product shots in Czech Republic earlier this week. This could also imply that the Redmi S2 will be released in more locations around the world, aside from the Asian market.

The high-quality product images of the rumored Xiaomi Redmi S2 device were obtained by the Czech publication SvetAndroida. The said Xiaomi handset uses a pink colouring for its body, and it appears to be the Redmi S2 itself because of its design similarities with the original Redmi S device. It was tipped that the Redmi S2 will be displayed at the new Xiaomi store opening in Prague in the coming days.

NDTV compared the Redmi S2 product photos with the Redmi Note 5 Pro, although there are also some similarities with the new Mi 6X. For one, the handset in quetsion also uses a vertically-aligned dual rear camera with a fingerprint scannrer positioned below the camera module. The Redmi S2 also has an 18:9 display with its 5.99-inch HD+ screen panel of 720x1,440 pixels resolution.

The Xiaomi Redmi S2 is shown to have a 16MP front-facing camera and a dual rear camera composed of a primary 12MP sensor and a secondary 5MP sensor. Under the hood, the Redmi S2 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The handset's storage capacity can be further expanded via microSD card slot. The Redmi S2 is expected to use a 3,080mAh battery cell.

So far, the latest details coming from the Czech source are consistent with the earlier specs leaks for the Xiaomi Redmi S2. Last week, a TENAA listing for a new Xiaomi handset reveals a 6-inch display and 3 storage and RAM combinations. XDA Developers believes that the unnamed Xiaomi smartphone on TENAA is actually the Redmi S2, based on the certification code in the listing that matches that of the device's internal codename in the unearthed Xiaomi firmware files.
