Xposed Christian Youth Festival 9th-11th July 2004

Organised by the Methodist Church, "Xposed" Christian Youth Festival will commence today, and last from 9th July to 11th July at Winter Gardens, Blackpool.

The event will begin with a BBQ, which will include music and entertainment in the evening. On Saturday, the opening event will be led by Damian Wharton with music being provided by Escapade. There will be workshops throughout the whole day. Top deejays, big screen veejays and the 'Breakout Breakdance' competition will all combine to provide superb late night entertainment.

Guests from Ghana and Kenya will be at the event to give presentations on how unjust trade rules affect their lives in the ballroom. Participants are also able to learn African bodypart drumming with the brilliant DrumJam, and inspiration can be found by a collection of songs and stories which were written after a trip to Ghana.

Hundreds of others such as MAYC Orchestra & Singers will provide another musical spectacular late into the night. There will also be live performances including a fantastic acoustic set from Superhero and music from Blackpool's samba band, Poco Loco.

On Sunday, a Carnival gathering will be held at the colonnades. Participants will be able to see a whole host of performers down by the sea in sunshine.

Moreover, there will be 24 hour Prayer through out the event, at St John's Church. This is open all day for anyone who wants time and space to pray.
