Y Care Training the Next Generation of Campaigners

Y Care International, the international development and relief agency of the YMCA in the UK and Ireland, will run a course for young people teaching them the skills and know-how they need to become great campaigners.

|PIC1|The focus of the course, which is also partly run by two trainers, Kelly Drake and Lord Rupert Redesdale, will be local and international issues that young people feel passionate enough to campaign on.

Campaign issues to be featured in the course include Gang crime, Homelessness, Environmental issues and the Effect of War on young people.

The course, for 16 to 25-year-olds, is also aimed at giving young people a forum to express their ideas about campaigns and to give young people direct contact with people working in parliament and international development agencies in the UK.

Part of the course, which runs from 18 to 20 October, will be held at the Houses of Parliament, where the participants on the course will meet directly with politicians to find out their top tips on how to run an effective campaign.
