Your failure does not cancel the victory in Christ

Do Christians win all the time in every situation? We all know that the answer to that question is no. Even when we are in Christ, we are never immune to failure and losing, but every setback that happens only becomes an avenue for God to bring about great comebacks.

Jesus once said in John 16:33, "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." It's interesting that on the topic of failure and trial, Jesus teaches us to anticipate it. Setbacks and failures are something that every believer will experience as a constant as we walk with Christ.

We all know what it's like to be thrown off course by a failure. That failure could be anything from a lost business, to rejection into a university, a relationship affected by offence or a job lost. The biggest deception that the enemy wants you to believe in such times is that failure is your dead end. Sadly, it can be so easy for us to believe this lie especially in the heat of the most trying situations.

When Jesus was nailed to a cross, it must have felt like the end for all the believers. But through that setback, God's power was displayed the most. It was through death on a cross and resurrection that we were shown the power of Christ even over the grave. If Jesus can conquer death, what's to stop him from conquering any other failure that you may face in this life? Even death was not the end for Christ. What's to make you think that that setback you are going through will become the end of God's purpose for you?

But reality is that failures can be painful. But even in times of apparent struggle, there can be internal joy that comes through Christ. James 1:2 says, "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds."

It's easy to think of failure as a dead end. I've faced various failures in my life, and- I'm not going to lie- every single one of them felt like the end of the line. But by God's grace, He would always provide a way out for me. There's no reason for God to not make a way out for anyone. Because He is loving and wants you to partake in His good, pleasing and perfect will, He can turn what seems to be a dead end into a door to a bigger and better season.

2 Corinthians 4:8-9 says, "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed." We may experience trials, but trials are never the end. They are simply part of the process to you getting your ultimate victory in Christ.
