Fans of Yoshihiro Togashi's anime "Yu Yu Hakusho" would be glad to hear that an Original Video Animation (OVA) is already in the works.

This is according to the announcement made by Studio Pierrot at the 2017 Jump Fiesta. The studio released a banner revealing that the anime special is a surprise addition to the 25th anniversary Blu-ray box set that will also be released.

The image on the banner also suggested that the OVA will also update the animation style of the project, giving the characters somewhat of a remastered look.

While this is not a new arc for the series as many of the fans expected, the announcement of the OVA is still very welcome news as the original run of the series ended way back in 1994 and fans have been waiting for decades to see another episode, regardless of whether it is canon or not.

The original series ran for a total of 112 episodes in 19 volumes.

A mobile game has also been released for the anniversary. Game company Klab recently launched "Yu Yu Hakusho: 100% Manji Battle" for iOS and Android. While the game's official launch video did not reveal much of its features, it still managed to show some of the playable characters that are usable.

The game also seems to be a turn-based strategy game with elements similar to "Combat Monsters." Klab also revealed in their official website that the game will follow the storyline of the main series, with over 200 characters to collect and strengthen. Real-time multiplayer coop is also available.

"Yu Yu Hakusho" follows the adventures of high school student Yusuke Urameshi, a young delinquent who is abruptly killed while trying to save a young boy from getting hit by a speeding vehicle. He is then resurrected for being actually good at heart, and is chosen to become a "Spirit Detective," an agent of the spirit world charged with solving paranormal cases.
