ZenPad 7.0 vs ZenPad 8.0 specs comparison: What's the difference?

Taiwanese company ASUS recently unveiled new devices during the ZenFestival event that took place in New Delhi, India. One of these devices is the ZenPad tablet which is expected to be available in two different sizes.

The new ZenPad tablet will be available in a 7-inch and 8-inch display screens.

According to a press release by ASUS, "ZenPad is the world's first tablet to feature an innovative interchangeable cover design that lets users easily customize their tablet with functional back covers."

It added that, "These can provide extra features and additional color options, while perfectly matching ZenPad's looks."

The new ZenPad tablet is also the first to integrate DTS-HD Premium Sound, according to the ASUS press release, and supports LTE/3G connectivity. It is protected by Zen Clutch and can deliver 5.1 channel surround sound.

The 7.0 inch model sports an IPS LCD screen with an 800 x 1280 pixel resolution. There's an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Under the hood, the tablet packs an Intel Atom x3-C3230 processor, a 2GB RAM, and 16GB internal memory storage.

On the other hand, the 8.0-inch model sports an IPS LCD screen with an 800 x 1280 resolution as well, 8-megapixel primary camera and also 2-megapixel camera on the front. Inside, the tablet has a Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB RAM, and an expandable 16GB built-in memory storage.

In addition, both models are expected to run on the new Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system (OS).

In its press release, the Taiwanese company said in regards to the screen, "ASUS TruVivid improves screen clarity, brightness, and touch responsiveness by transforming the conventional six-layer display design into a two-layer, fully-laminated design that eliminates the air gap, resulting in higher optical transparency for brilliant color and improved brightness."

Other new products unveiled by ASUS include the ZenFone 2 Deluxe, ZenFone Selfie, ZenFone 2 Laser, and ZenFone Max.
