'Zombie Army' trilogy: remastered Xbox One, PS4 version to be released

The "Zombie Army" trilogy is getting a reboot to be released on next-generation gaming consoles this year.

The news was announced by game developer Rebellion, stating that its "Zombie Army" pack containing "Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army 1," "Nazi Zombie Army 2," as well as the still unreleased "Zombie Army 3," will be coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in a digitally remastered format.

Rebellion's official press release states:

"Zombie Army Trilogy, rising early 2015, gives Xbox One and PlayStation 4 gamers their first chance to experience the blood-pumping co-op shooter series that became a cult sensation on PC. Former enemies become allies as the living fight against the dead."

The game developer also said that the remastered zombie survival game will feature "a brand new horde mode, delivering the ultimate package for fans of adrenaline-fuelled gunplay and harrowing intensity."

The trilogy pack will reportedly contain 15 missions, five horde maps, and nine playable characters, which include four new female characters as well as the main sniper named Karl Fairburne.

The first "Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army" was released on Feb. 28, 2013 as a digital download exclusively available on Steam.

Those who own the PC version of the first and second "Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army" will be given a special offer, since they can buy the trilogy pack at a special discounted price. In this set, the players can combat the pack of dangerous armies, including the Undead Super Soldiers, Armoured Skeletons, Zombie Snipers, Chainsaw Elites, Fire Demons, among others. Their ultimate nemesis is the demonized version of Hitler when they reach the final stand of the game to find out what will happen to the world.

Aside from the "Zombie Army Trilogy," the British game developer is also responsible for developing other popular games such as the "Sniper Elite V2" as well "Aliens vs. Predator."
