Chinese company ZTE Corporation has just released the new successor to last year's Boost Max smartphone device to the U.S. market, and is currently preparing to begin shipping its new ZTE Axon Pro this July 27.

iDigital Times recently reported that the ZTE Axon Pro is now available for preorder at about US$450, and will also be released in the U.S. The ZTE Axon Pro comes with high-end specifications in comparison with the original Boost Max and the new Boost Max+.

According to GSM Arena, the ZTE Axon Pro sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display screen with a 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It comes with a 153.9 x 73.7 x 9.4 mm dimensions and weighs about 173 grams.

The ZTE Axon Pro runs on the new Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system and packs Qualcomm's MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 processor under the hood. It offers 4GB RAM and a non-expandable 32GB internal memory capacity.

The device comes with  13-megapixel and 2-megapixel dual cameras on the back and an 8-megapixel camera on the front. Camera features include touch focus, HDR, panorama, and face detection capability. In addition, the new phone is powered by a large non-removable 3,000 mAh battery that provides up to 12 hours talk time using 3G.

Phone Arena reports that the Axon Pro is expected to be released in Canada as well, sometime during summer, as confirmed by the Chinese company. As of this time, it's still unclear whether the new smartphone will be launched to other country markets.

In addition, GSM Arena has reported that another version of the Axon Pro with the model number "Axon A2015" has just made its way through Chinese certification body TENAA recently. The report adds that the only difference between this version and the other is the existence of a fingerprint sensor on the rear.
