Chinese technology vendors ZTE Corporation and Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. are expected to launch new smartwatches this year.

ZTE recently unveiled its new Axon Watch alongside a new smartphone called the "Axon Lux." Huawei, on the other hand, announced its new Huawei Watch at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 earlier this year. The Huawei Watch is expected to be released in September or November, according to rumors.

In addition, it was recently revealed that the Huawei Watch had just crossed through the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) along with its specifications, confirming that the smartwatch is on its way to the market soon. Here's what to expect from the two upcoming devices in terms of the specs.

Both smartwatches will sport 1.4-inch round display screens with 400 x 400 pixel resolutions. Huawei's smartwatch will come with an AMOLED display covered by a layer of stainless steel and sapphire crystal. ZTE's watch, on the other hand, will feature a sapphire glass coating.

Also, both smartwatches will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 512 MB RAM, 4GB internal memory storage, and 300 mAh battery. The difference between the two is that the Huawei Watch will run on Android Wear operating system (OS), while ZTE's new Axon Watch will run on Tencent OS, which was unveiled last April.

Techno Buffalo recently reported that the ZTE Axon Watch will be available exclusively in China. The Huawei Watch, on the other hand, will be available in the U.K., the U.S., and Australia, among many other global markets, according to an earlier report by CNET.

Meanwhile, images of the Huawei Watch inside a luxurious leather box recently appeared on the HDblog website, according to reports. This indicates that the new smartwatch might be a little more expensive than previously expected, although there has not been any confirmation to back this up.
