After releasing its new ZTE Nubia Z9 smartphone, Chinese telecommunications company ZTE Corporation launched another new handset called the ZTE Boost Max+ in the U.S. market.

The new ZTE Boost Max+ is the successor to the previous ZTE Boost Max that was released earlier last year. The new handset is now available in the U.S. and costs about US$200, according to a recent report by GSM Arena.

Like its predecessor the Boost Max, the new phablet has been developed in collaboration with Boost Mobile.

In terms of the specs, the ZTE Boost Max+ runs on the new Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system (OS) and is compatible with Long Term Evolution (LTE) connectivity. The new phablet sports a 5.7-inch display screen with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution (full high-definition).

The ZTE Boost Max+ has an 8-megapixel camera on the back and a 1-megapixel front-facing camera. Under the hood, the handset packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 series processor, according to iDigital Times, and a massive 3400 mAh battery. It offers would-be owners 2GB RAM and up to 16GB internal memory capacity.

According to Phone Arena, on the other hand, it's unclear what the phone's processor is. It added that it could be Qualcomm's Snapdragon 410 processor.

iDigital Times reports that the Boost Max+ is "environmentally friendly" as it has been certified by UL Environment. In addition, Phone Arena reports that it also comes with the Dolby Digital Plus virtual surround sound.

Another new handset by ZTE that's expected to begin shipping this July 27 is the ZTE Axon Pro. In comparison with the Boost Max+, the ZTE Axon Pro sports a smaller 5.5-inch display screen with a higher 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution (Quad HD). This phone packs Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 processor along with a 4GB RAM capacity.
