10 scriptures to encourage you to overcome fear and live a courageous life

Probably the safest assumption we can make is that in Jesus Christ, we can live a life that is ruled by courage and faith in Him, and even when that assumption isn't that safe, God still calls us to act in boldness.

Fear is one of today's biggest enemies. It is what cripples us and blocks us from pursuing God's radical, audacious, difficult and sometimes even scary purposes for our lives. When God calls you out to live for Him, He doesn't call you to a comfortable and easy life. He calls you to a life that will require you to step out in courage.

But God never calls us out to face the challenges and trials that may come our way alone. Just as God went with Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Gideon, David, Daniel, Peter, Paul and just about everyone that God commends in the Bible, He goes with you as you fulfil God's call for your life.

Here are ten scriptures in the slideshow below that encourage us to stand in the power, might and strength of the name of Jesus Christ as we live courageously for God's purposes.

Deuteronomy 31:6 "Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you." Pixabay
