2017 Subaru Outback price: popular model arrives summer with powerful engine

2017 Subaru WRX Subaru

The 2017 Subaru WRX and its higher build WRX STI feature several updates and re-designs from the original build that was introduced in 2015 but as stated in a report from Motor Authority, there won't be any significant overhauls for the time being.

According to the report, the vehicle will come in a base, premium and limited trim and the WRX will be powered by a standard 4-cylinder 2.0-liter engine that can push up to 268 HP. The car is built with Four Wheel Drive control and consumers will have the option for both a standard 6-speed manual transmission as wel as CVT.

Moving up to the WRX STI grants a more powerful turbocharged 4-cylinder 2.5-liter engine capable of pushing 305 HP. This comes solely with the 6-speed manual transmission option and trim levels are split between the base model and the limited edition.

Both vehicle builds will come with electronic driver aids, a new tricot-pattern headliner, automatic headlights and a freshly installed nine-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system. The WRX and WRX STI also come with the premium StarLink infotainment system from Subaru.

In regards to pricing, the WRX is said to start at a suggested retail price of $27,515 while the STI build will start at $36,015. These prices also come with the $820 destination charge. Both are expected to launch before the end of the summer.

As for the 2017 Subaru Outback, a report from Auto Week expects it to be out by July and is estimated to have a retail price starting at $25,645. It will be released alongside the 2017 Subaru Legacy, which has a starting price roughly $10,000 higher than the Outback.

Just like the WRX, the Outback and the Legacy do not radically alter the designs of previous models but further imrpove upon what is already there in the hopes of refining the build to make it more powerful, comfortable and luxurious.
