The newest version of the Honda Accord is set to arrive this month, and it will be bringing huge changes to the long-running sedan in terms of its exterior, under-the-hood elements, and technology components.
The 2018 Honda Accord will be getting a makeover with its new curvy design philosophy reminiscent of a coupe, and its switch to turbocharged four-cylinder engines.
A 1.5-liter variant of the engine will be available upon launch, while a 2-liter version will be released at a later date. In early 2018, a four-cylinder hybrid variant will also be available.
The new Accord's engine will be hooked up to a new 10-speed automatic transmission system. There will be a Sport variation of the Accord which will feature a six-speed manual transmission.
On the dashboard, the former dual screen infotainment system is being replaced by a single-screen one, which will include a more user-friendly interface, customizable controls, and vivid graphics.
Along with its coupe-like design, the 2018 Accord was designed to have a lower and wider profile. The interior offers a lot of comfort and legroom, but the backseat may have limited headroom for taller individuals due to the car's curvy design.
The new sporty look is supported by a chassis that consists of 29 percent ultra-high strength steel, giving the car more rigidity despite losing a bit of weight.
The new car will employ a suite of the Honda Sending safety system, which includes forward-collision warning, automatic high beams, automatic emergency brakes, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assistance. Consumers can also opt to add the blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert.
The 2018 Honda Accord will start at 23,570 dollars for the 1.5-liter automatic variant, which will be available by mid-October. The manual transmission version of this model will be available at $25,780.
The 2-liter version, on the other hand, will roll out to markets by November, followed by the Hybrid version early next year.
