4 Easy Ways to Share Jesus With Your Non-Christian Friends This Christmas

This Christmas we have once again all felt the rush and pressure of shopping, party preparations, family vacations and gatherings. But in the holiday bustle, let us not forget the reason why we celebrate Christmas—Jesus Christ.

The message of Christmas goes around the message of Christ: "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6)

Keeping Jesus at the centre will not only shine a light upon ourselves, but also to our friends both churched and unchurched. In fact, the Christmas season gives us yet another opportunity to share Christ with our family and friends who have not yet heard about the Gospel.

Here are four easy ways that you can share Jesus to people who do not know Christ yet this Christmas.

1. Act In Generosity

The essence of Christmas can often be too much about receiving gifts and joining parties.

But ask yourself: When was the last time you were the one on the giving end? 2 Corinthians 8:7 tells us, "Since you excel in so many ways—in your faith, your gifted speakers, your knowledge, your enthusiasm, and your love from us—I want you to excel also in this gracious act of giving."

When we are generous to others, we become channels of God's love to others.

2. Focus on the Reason for the Season

Unless Jesus is the centre of the celebration, He will not be made evident. There are many ways to keep Christ at the centre externally—putting up ornaments, sharing verses, saying prayers during gatherings, and so on.

But more importantly, in our hearts, we must never forget to bring Christ into the holiday cheer. When Jesus is in the middle of our hearts, He'll be in the middle of the celebration.

3. Be Thankful

A complaining heart is the last thing that will shine bright the light of Jesus Christ. Holidays can often be stressful, I know, but the pressure doesn't have to drown out the joy of celebrating the birth of our Saviour. Sometimes something as simple as being filled with thanksgiving can speak of Jesus' love more heavily than our words.

4. Open Up Your Home

An open home speaks volumes about a person's heart. When we open up our home to others we are given the opportunity to make evident God's open hands to others. We cannot say that God invites people into His kingdom if people cannot even invite the unchurched to their own homes. Opening up your home is a powerful message to the community that there is something worth celebrating this season and we want to share it with others.
