E-commerce giant Amazon has found a new way to cater to online consumers. The company had recently announced the 'Dash Button', which happens to be a physical button that customers can activate by pressing it a single time. According to Gizmag, Dash Button is currently being used to replenish the stock for customers concerning cleaning products and more. Each Dash Button will have its own brand, meaning that if users end up clicking it, they will have a specific product belonging to that particular brand name delivered to their home.
The Dash Button can be set up using the owner's smartphone. If the user has accidentally pressed the button twice, Amazon will only register the first press of the button and afterwards, the concerned items will be delivered to the recipient's registered address. Additionally, the company will also be sending a confirmation alert to the user's smartphone, allowing them to rectify any mistake in the order, in case the user has made one.
While Amazon has not gone in to the technical details of the 'Dash Button', setting it up is fairly easy and since it features a Wi-Fi module, it will easily be compatible with the Wi-Fi network present at the owner's household. Amazon has put together a list of products that will be available for users to order through the Dash Button. They are as follows:
- Toilet paper
- Disinfecting wipes
- Moisturizers
- Dog food
- Mac and cheese
- Glad bags
Unfortunately, Dash Button is currently only available for Prime members, and in order to receive a button of their choice, even they will need to request an invite. Amazon is in the process of making deals with more companies and brands that will allow the e-commerce giant to branch out its Dash Buttons in order to provide additional flexibility to household owners in the near future.
