Amy Duggar's husband Dillon King rejects 'grifters' accusation: 'We have never asked for money nor will we ever'

Amy Duggar and her husband Dillon King have often been criticised by people for freeloading off devoted fans of the Christian reality TV show "19 Kids and Counting." So when the couple posted a throwback honeymoon picture and wrote that they wanted to go back to Mexico, people were quick to point out that they are asking for another free vacation.

"Fill out one of these and God will bless you with money," a sarcastic Facebook user named Cindy Davis wrote.

Infuriated by the veiled insult, 28-year-old King wrote a lengthy reply about how he and Amy actually work hard for everything that they have.

"I'm not sure you know who you're talking to, this is Dillon, not Amy," he wrote. "And I'm not sure where you find the 'grift' thing to Amy or myself, we have never asked for money nor will we ever. I've been working and punching a clock since I was 16 years old so I'm very aware of how going to work and making your own money really is. I married into the Duggar family that doesn't mean I don't have a job..."

But Davis did not believe King, and fired back once more: "Just like you paid for Amy's wedding gown, her bridal shower? Oh wait her gown was free & her shower was free too must be nice! Grifters just like the Duggars!"

Davis really struck a nerve since King was quick to defend him and his wife once more.

"See, there you go with that whole 'grifter' thing again," King wrote.

"I'm beginning to think you all don't know the meaning of the word. To be called a con artist is pretty insulting. And it does get under my skin. And you don't know what you speak."

King explained that Amy's wedding dress was a gift from a bridal shop while the Dillards called them up about a bridal shower.

"I'm not sure how that make us a 'con artist' when these businesses contact us asking if they can throw us a shower," he said. "And by the way, since when does the bride 'pay' to have her own shower? I don't know anyone that has gotten married and the bride 'paid' for her friends and family to shower her. That doesn't even make [sense]."
