Android 4.3 update for Galaxy S3 on T-Mobile, AT&T available now; Galaxy Note 2 update rolls out on Sprint

The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update is finally rolling out to Samsung Galaxy S3 and Note 2 devices across major U.S. networks.

This week, T-Mobile and AT&T have both started rolling out the 4.3 updates to Samsung Galaxy S3 owners. Note that only LTE models of the Galaxy S3 are available for an update over-the-air on T-Mobile.

Sprint also began the Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy Note 2.

The release of the 4.3 update to S3 devices on T-Mobile and AT&T are in accordance to a leaked timeline.

While updates to the Galaxy S3 and Note 2 are available on U.S. carriers, the Jelly Bean update has been suspended for the Galaxy S4.

The updates have been pulled by AT&T and U.S. Cellular after Samsung reported some issues.

T-Mobile was also scheduled to release the update on the Galaxy S4 today, but it has not been rolled out, meaning that the issues that Samsung reported may be ongoing.

In October, Samsung confirmed that its Galaxy devices will be receiving the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

The company stated: Samsung Galaxy S4, S III, and Note II will get the Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) update. For Galaxy S III and Note II, new capabilities provide easier text input, and updated graphics and multimedia, as well as new updates to Samsung features and applications, including:

• Smsung KNOX*, a secure and comprehensive mobile solution for enterprises and consumers. (*Galaxy S III 3G

version will get Samsung KNOX with a platform security only in select countries.)

• Smart Switch to seamlessly transfer content from other smartphones to Samsung devices

• HomeSync to store, share and enjoy content securely wherever you are

• Group Play 2.5 with shared video support

The Jelly Bean update will provide compatibility with Samsung's first smartwatch – the Galaxy Gear.

While Samsung smartphone owners are still waiting for the Android 4.3 update, Google's Nexus 4, 7 and 10 owners have started to receive the update for the Android 4.4 KitKat software update.

Samsung nor Google have yet released any information on when the updates for the Galaxy S4, S3, Note 3, or Note 2 devices will be available.
