Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for all Samsung Galaxy S3 devices expected next week after Sprint roll out

After Samsung started pushing out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update to Sprint Galaxy S3 devices last week, the roll-out for all users in the coming week is highly likely.

The over the air (OTA) update of Android 4.4.2 KitKat started pushing out to the Sprint variant of the Samsung Galaxy S3 a few days ago after the firmware update appeared on Sprint's update support page

XDA Developers spotted an update to Samsung's Open Source Release Center page for the Sprint variant of the device to include the upcoming L710VPND8 update, although it is likely the roll-out will be staggered so not all devices will be getting it at the same time.

XDA reported that the update would also include the Linux 3.4 kernel.

The Android 4.4.2 KitKat release to Sprint is a good indication the update will be making its way to all Samsung Galaxy S3 devices any day now.

AndroidGeeks predicts it will come by next week, starting in the Europe market first before a push out to other regions.

Android 4.4.2 KitKat replaces the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and will fix bugs and make some tweaks to the user interface, like white icons and transparent status bar.

AndroidGeeks said the update would also make the Samsung Galaxy S3 run faster as it requires less memory and is better optimised.

You can check if it's available on your device by going to Settings > More > System Update > Update Samsung Software > Check Now.

You should check you have a stable WiFi connection and at least 50 per cent battery before starting the update.

XDA Developers has a link to a download for Sprint devices that have not yet received the update.

More recently, I’ve enjoyed Christian movies Unsung Hero and Jesus Revolution on limited release in the UK, but it’s rare for such films to make the multiplex chains.
