Data storage is not limited anymore to large businesses or corporations. The digital era has allowed even an ordinary person to accumulate a huge amount of digital data, so much so that the storage provided by an Android phone may not suffice anymore. However, there are a lot of services and apps that one can avail of or download to their devices and clear up additional space locally.

Google Drive, the most popular and well known, offers free 15GB of space for photos, stories, designs, drawings, videos and everything. Users can also share files and folders, which lets others view and even edit one's files. Users can download an app to make synchronization easier. The service can be synchronized with an Android device. A 100GB storage upgrade costs US$1.99 per month while a terabyte of space requires US$9.99 per month.

Dropbox, another popular app for Android devices, comes with 2GB of free online space. Anything can be uploaded, and it allows file and folder sharing. One TB of space costs US$9.99 per month. A business account goes for US$15 per month and offers unlimited online space.

Amazon Cloud Drive is a great addition for users of Amazon Prime, for they will automatically get 5GB of free cloud storage, and it comes with unlimited photo space. However, this is not a free cloud service. Without an Amazon Prime account, it is US$11.99 per year for 5GB of space and US$59.99 per year for the unlimited option.

Microsoft OneDrive (formerly SkyDrive) offers 5GB free storage space while upgrades cost US$1.99 a month for 100 GB and US$3.99 a month for 200GB. An Office 365 subscription gives its user a 1TB online storage space. It is also highly compatible with the Android OS.

Yandex Disk is one of the smaller players in the online storage war. Free users can easily avail of 10GB of storage space. For an additional US$1 a month, another 10GB is added, or an additional 100GB for US$2 a month. A server package offers 1TB of cloud space for US$10/month.

Last, but not the least, MediaFire. The free option or Basic offers 10GB cloud storage while a Pro version costs US$4.79 a month for 1TB. A discount is offered for a one year signup for the Pro, which is US$3.79 a month or US$45.48 a year. For those wanting more, a Business option is available for US$39.99 a month, billed quarterly, for a 100TB of online storage.
