'Assassin's Creed: Unity' PC release date to be delayed?

Every time an "Assassin's Creed" game is to be released, Ubisoft cannot commit to a specific release date. And even if they state the release date of the game, there will be a sudden delay of launching that will be announced a week or so before the game's release. Hence, it is no surprise why people are questioning if the release date for "Assassin's Creed: Unity" will actually push through.

According to Rock Paper Shotgun, Ubisoft said that the PC version will be released together with the PS4 and Xbox One versions. Game producer Lesley Phord-Toy shared details on the release of the game and how they're working hard to avoid delays.

"We're always aiming to ship all our games on all platforms at the same time. I don't have any specific news on the PC version of Assassin's Creed Unity, but I do know we're planning on shipping on all three [platforms]: Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. I haven't heard any news differently than that," said Phord-Toy.

She also shared that "It can be challenging. PC has a variety of different hardware configurations that you can't necessarily predict. On a console you know what's in the box. Every customer has the same configuration for the most part, and first-parties push firmware updates so everyone has what you're expecting to have. PCs are nowhere near as consistent. So it can be extremely challenging to try and support as many of those permutations as possible." Phord-Toy worked on "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" PC version.

Nonetheless, she expressed confidence that the different game platforms will all come out on Oct. 28, 2014, "Like I said, Ubisoft has been very successful at achieving same-ship in the recent past, so we're very confident that we'll be able to do the same for Assassin's Creed Unity."

We can all hope that Ubisoft delivers, but in the meantime, you can indulge in the cinematic trailer of the game that was released E3.
