An Eastern Conference matchup of two squads coming off losses in their last preseason games will take place today, Friday, when the Atlanta Hawks visit the Detroit Pistons at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

The Hawks were soaring in their first four preseason games but are currently on a two-game losing slide, with the most recent defeat coming from the Memphis Grizzlies, 82–81.

Leading the charge for the Hawks in the loss was guard Kent Bazemore who scored 18 points.

Helping him were forwards Paul Millsap and Al Horford who provided an all-around game against the Grizzlies.

Millsap had 17 points, nine rebounds, three assists, four steals, with one block, while Horford recorded 13 points, 14 rebounds, four assists, one steal, and four blocks.

The Pistons have struggled to find a win in the preseason and in their previous game were defeated by the thriving Charlotte Hornets.

Center Andre Drummond had a monster game for the Pistons in the loss, having a double-double performance with 21 points, 15 rebounds, one assist, and two blocks.

Drummond was in the news lately after he decided not to sign an extension deal with the Pistons before the deadline this coming November.

The 22-year-old center will be waiting on next year's free agency when the team will have the capacity to sign him to a much lucrative deal.

Drummond is very valuable to the Pistons since he is one of the players the franchise is building around and also because they lost big man Greg Monroe in the offseason after the latter signed with the Milwaukee Bucks.

The game Friday will serve as a preview with both teams scheduled to start the 2015–16 season facing each other on Oct. 27.

The preseason game between the Hawks and Pistons will be played today, Oct. 23, at 7:30 p.m. EST. To watch via live stream, click here.
