"Attack on Titan" anime fans will be needing a little more patience before season 2 starts airing. Several reports going around the Web say that instead of two-story arcs before anime production begins, it is now turning into four-story arcs. However, many fans are hoping that the upcoming season will still make it this year.
According to a translation by Fuku-Shuu, Shintaro Kawakubo, the editor for manga creator Hajime Isayama, posted on Twitter that the April issue of manga magazine Bessatsu Shonen will contain updates on the second season of "Shingeki no Kyojin," known in the Western world as "Attack on Titan." The update came from a discussion between Isayama and anime director Tetsuro Araki. The website also stated that the second season for the TV series is already in the production stage.
The discussion between Araki and Isayama revealed how intricate the adaptation process is, from manga to anime. According to Araki, even the dialect to be used by Sasha, one of the members of the Survey Corps, in a future scene is also being considered and was eventually discussed with Isayama. In such scenes as coming back home to her village, she would use either the common language used by the Corps or her native dialect.
Another special scene described by Isayama was when Annie was revealed as the Female Titan. The creator felt that the scene lacked the proper revelation -- a tiny panel was all it took. Araki agreed with the creator and said that he wanted to have Annie's transformation to be climatic and had to utilize extra effort for it.
Araki ended the discussion with Isayama by stating that he is prepared to face the production challenge for one of the best-selling manga.
On a discussion board for "Attack on Titans" on Reddit, fans do understand that getting involved and following an anime series need a tremendous amount of patience. Some are still waiting for a certain anime, the trailer of which was released five years ago.
There is no concrete news yet on when the second season of "Attack on Titan" will air.
