Former Olympian Bruce Jenner shocked the world last year when he transitioned to Caitlyn Jenner, a decision one author claims he now regrets based on the alleged statements made by Jenner's friends.

In an interview with The Wrap, Ian Halperin claimed that one of Jenner's long-time friend and other sources—who were not identified—had told him that Caitlyn is suffering from "transgender regret" and is even considering "transitioning back into a man."

When sought for a comment regarding Halperin's claims, Jenner's rep said everything he said was untrue. Jenner's rep told the New York Daily News: "Not worth commenting on such an idiotic report... Of course it's not true."

Halperin, the author of "Kardashian Dynasty: The Controversial Rise of America's Royal Family," had told The Wrap that Jenner's friend told him her detransition could happen in the next few years.

"It hasn't been easy for Caitlyn, it's been very hard. One source confirmed to me Caitlyn has made whispers of 'sex change regret,'" Halperin alleged in the interview.

People should expect that Caitlyn would start her de-transitioning process "in the next couple years", he alleged.

"I don't think it would surprise anybody in her inner circle. It has been much harder than she anticipated. My heart goes out to her and I know her true friends will be there to support her on whatever path she chooses," the friend allegedly told the author.

Another friend of Jenner claimed that the former Olympian was still interested in women and hopes to meet the right one in the future.

Jenner has not commented directly on the claims and her Twitter feed does not betray any signs of regret, as Halperin claims, as she continues to advocate for LGBT rights.

Previously, Jenner was married to Chrystie Crownover (five years), songwriter Linda Thompson (14 years), and reality star Kris Kardashian of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" (14 years).

Jenner has two kids with each of her three former wives. He and Crownover are the parents of Burton and Cassandra Jenner. With Thompson, she fathered Brandon and Brody Jenner. Kendall and Kylie Jenner are her youngest kids with Kardashian.
