"Batman: Arkham Knight" players should rejoice, with news that a downloadable content (DLC) update is coming to the game this month.

Warner Bros. Interactive announced that the DLC update will arrive on Tuesday, Dec. 22, as reported by GearNuke.

The upcoming DLC, titled "Season of Infamy: Most Wanted Expansion," will feature new boss and new missions as well as the comeback of iconic villains.

In "Beneath the Surface" mission, players will deal with Killer Croc; "In From the Cold"with Mr. Freeze; "Wonderland" with Mad Hatter; and "Shadow War" with Ra's Al Ghul.

According to Tech Times, players will finally get the chance to pursue these villains — something that wasn't achieved back in "Arkham Knight."

There are also other villains that should shake up the game; they include, Man-Bat, The Penguin, Two-Face, Deathstroke, and The Riddler, among others.

Meanwhile, players will also get the 2008 Batman movie skin, the original Arkham Batmobile, Crime Fighter Challenge Pack #5, and six TBC AR challenges.

Aside from this, players will also be treated to Classic Harley and Arkham Knight skins with the coming update, but the release will vary by region, as posted in the Arkham Knight online community discussions.

In addition, rain effects are said to be improved once the update rolls out. Reports stated that rain will be heavier and more noticeable in the game. It remains to be seen how the new rain effects should affect the game. The new and improved rain effects will reportedly arrive to consoles in January 2016, and to the personal computer (PC) version at an earlier time.

The upcoming game update with new missions, however, will rollout simultaneously come Dec. 22 to different platforms, including Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, even though the game on the PC version had experienced several issues.

"Batman: Arkham Knight" DLC should arrive just in time for the holidays. It would serve as a Christmas treat for all fans of the game since it offers fresh content to keep players enticed.
