Rocksteady Games brand marketing producer Dax Ginn has confirmed that development for "Batman VR," which will launch for the PlayStation VR, is now complete and has even gone gold. Ginn has also stated that the company is currently working to get started on the game they really want to work on.
"We submitted 'Batman VR' to Sony last week which was an awesome experience," he told Eurogamer.
During the interview, he also stated that they are now in a position where Warner Bros. has allowed the company to take a break from the "Arkham" series in order to work on their dream game, although they have not yet decided on what this ideal project could be.
"To be honest I don't really know," he replied when asked what the next game was. "We're in a very enviable position where we have some time and space to decide what we're doing next. We can sit back and think what our dream game would be, and we have Warner Bros.' support to do that," he went on to say.
Ginn did confirm that they are indeed leaving the "Arkham" series behind and that they have grown too comfortable with the series. He also mentioned that it was time to let go of that level of comfort in order to get back on top of the game and work on something new, fresh, and challenging.
It is also implied that the company is already busy working on a new IP, but Ginn did not reveal what it may be about, whether it is an original IP, or if it is based on an existing franchise like an anime series, film series, or comic book franchise.
Fans have always clamored for the developers to create a Superman video game, given how successful they have been with Batman, although Ginn did not confirm nor deny if they would work on a Superman video game in the near future.
"Batman VR" is scheduled to roll out this October.
