Imagine Beyoncé Knowles playing a feather duster. Bill Condon, the director of the live-action adaption of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast," revealed that he originally intended for the pop superstar to join his film as one of the supporting roles.

Speaking with Yahoo! Entertainment, Condon revealed that he tried to get the singer to play Plummet, one of the Beast's castle maids who was turned into a feather duster after being cursed along with the prince.

"I even tried to get her into 'Beauty and the Beast,' but it wasn't a big enough part. She would have been a good feather duster," the director revealed.

Though it would seem like Beyoncé turned down the part, it's still unclear as to why.

The role of Plumette was eventually won by actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw. It is worthy to note that Condon's attempt to get Beyoncé to join his film is not that odd. He worked with the singer in 2006, on the romantic musical film "Dreamgirls," in which Condon was the writer and the director. Even if Condon has directed a variety of films, when it came to making another musical, his casting choices immediately included Beyoncé.

In recent years, Disney has extended its movie lineup which now includes Lucasfilm and Marvel Studios. Even with these additions, the studio is still known for creating some of the most memorable animated films in the history of cinema.

When the Tim Burton-helmed live-action adaptation of "Alice in Wonderland" succeeded, Disney didn't hesitate and released a slew of live-action versions of some of its classic films which include "Maleficent," "Cinderella" and "The Jungle Book."

The "Beauty and the Beast" live-action adaptation is one of this year's top-grossing films, earning $1.263 billion at the worldwide box office. The film featured Emma Watson playing Belle, Dan Stevens as the Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston and Josh Gad playing LeFou.
