Google recently released the list of the best games supported by Android, and out of all the mobile games showcased at the Google Play Store, there are only a handful that can be considered as worthy of a device's storage space.

Here are some of this year's entries in the top Android games, in no particular order:

"Monument Valley" - $3.99

Initially launched as an iOS game and even earned an Apple Design Awards earlier this year, this engaging puzzle game requires players to lead the character named Princess Ida to pass successfully through impossible obstacles and optical illusion mazes. Released on Android on May 14, this Ustwo-developed mobile puzzle game managed to sell over a million copies by July 2014.

"Terra Battle" - free app

Those who enjoy role-playing games like "Final Fantasy" will probably love playing the Oct. 9-released single-player game dubbed as the "Terra Battle." It is created by Hironobu Sakaguchi, and developed and published by Mistwalker on both Android and iOS operating systems. The game became very successful on mobile devices, which is why the company is planning on bringing it to game consoles once it reaches 2 million downloads.

"Leo's Fortune" - $4.99

This highly rated video game for both Android and Amazon was released by a Swedish game developer 1337 back in April this year. In this game, the character needs to get back the stolen gold coin treasures all throughout its 20 levels.

"Farmville 2: Country Escape" - free app

The popular Facebook game was released released on April 10 to mobile devices that support Android and iOS operating systems. The game takes the players in a brand-new coastal location wherein they can continue growing crops, taking care of farm animal, creating goods, as well as collecting treasures.

"Hitman Go" - $4.99

The mobile version of the "Hitman" franchise is also as popular as its console editions. Released by Square Enix on April 17, this Android app continues to be one of the most downloaded stealth video games in mobile devices.
