Soul Surfer Bethany Hamilton just paid a visit to Adrian Grajeda, an 11-year-old Palm Desert boy who lost his right leg as a result of a car crash near Abraham Lincoln Elementary School in California.

The two certainly have something in common since Hamilton, a professional surfer, lost her left arm after being bitten by a tiger shark back in 2003. But the two refused to let their accidents get in the way of enjoying life. Hamilton continued to surf despite her disability, while Grajeda never lost his passion to play sports, The Desert Sun shared.

Since getting a prosthetic leg, Grajeda has been playing soccer and even attended a softball camp just like any regular 11-year-old.

He told Hamilton that he plans on tackling football and surfing next, and the pregnant surfer has no doubt that he will do exceedingly well. "You're gonna rip!" she told him.

Grajeda actually felt very shy meeting Hamilton, although he said that the experience was very exciting for him. "All my friends at school say I'm really lucky though," he said.

Hamilton told Grajeda that even though she does not use a prosthetic arm, she is happy that the technology is able to help him stay active and enjoy sports after his accident.

She met the young boy just before attending the Salvation Army fundraising event at Southwest Church in Indian Wells. During the event, Hamilton shared how she maintained a positive attitude after the shark attack, and she thanked her family, faith and friends for keeping her grounded throughout the ordeal.

"I know if I didn't have this grounding in my life, this obstacle that was coming that I didn't know about ... I don't know where I would be," she said.
